David Oyarzun made the oral presentation of his Ph.D.-Thesis entitled 'Representation of virtual worlds’ inhabitants: A framework for the conceptual definition of avatars' supervised by Dr. Alejandro García-Alonso and Dra. Amalia Ortiz.
Two of the main researchers at Vicomtech, David Oyarzun and Dr. Luis Unzueta, will participate at the VI Articulated Motion and Deformable Objects Conference AMDO 2010 to be held next July 7 to 9 in Andratx, Majorca.
The IXA Group organized a meeting of the CLARIN european project in June 8th in Donostia. The aim of the CLARIN project is the dissemination of computational linguistics resources for their use in research on social sciences.

In the international workshop CLA’09 (Computational Linguistics – Applications) celebrated last week in the Polish city of Mrągowo, AnHitz, the Basque-speaking virtual expert in Science and Technology, won the prize for the best application.
